I'm trying to do this also but in the convert screen:

Convert
Prefix of phpBB2-installation: ...........
Convert MOD to v0.4.0-RC2: [] Yes [] No

[Submit]

I have the phpBB2 install stored in an other database, I've looked at the code but you can only convert it when it's in the same database as far as I see it now??

I think you are correct. I copied those tables to my phpBB3 DB. Copied all my old Album tables and kept them their for when the time came to convert. I used phpMyAdmin to do that with. Not to much a problem as I still have my phpBB2 DB in case I need something else from it.

You will have to copy the whole Album folder with all the pictures to your new set up as well (if you don't already have them there).

Hi,
I have been trying to convert from smartor without success, and need help!
Here´s my case:

Converted from 2.23 and album 023a (latest version of Smartor).
Uploaded RC 4 (latest) of Phpbbalbum from this site.
Installed it and got it to work fine with the testpicture.

Ran the convert function and everything went fine.
Had the phpbb2 database along with my phpbb3 database and could see that everything seemed to convert right in the phpbb3-tables.
Moved the whole upload-content from phpbb2 to upload-dir in phpbbgallery.

Refreshed the cache in admin panel and still I got "There are no albums" in the front-end page!

Even tried to re-install the gallery and removed the upload-dir and did everthing from the beginning, still no luck!

Any clues in this matter?

Note: Because of a complete change in the permissions-system you need to set all permissions new, when you update from previous versions (than 0.4.x), or convert from Smartor's Album MOD.

Sorry for this, but now I have 2 other problems with the phpbb-gallery.
I´ve tried searching for the answer, but I could not find anything;

1. I´m administrator and have full rights in all album. Despite that I cannot edit or delete converted pictures from the show-list. New pics I can both edit and delete (links are presented here)?

2. In the conversion no existing comments or rates seemed to come along, any ideas?

your own image?
if not so, you need moderator permissions
