Will there be an option to add an uploaded image as your avatar?

I see... wasn't aware of it.

Would it be allowed to be posted as an unofficial add-on? If so I'll post it when the next version is available in case anyone is interested on it...

why would you want to do that when there is an option for you to upload an image as AVATAR in the UCP itself?

Are there plans for an RSS Image Feed plug-in to the Gallery? I can have a second feed to compliment my Coppermine Gallery going into the Photo Wall in my development site - www.brummiesfans.com/test An (compliant) RSS feed from the Gallery to the Photo Wall would look really cool!

Thanks

Martin

Because it's more User Friendly for the members.

From a member's perspective, It seems almost common sense... I upload my images by going to Gallery... I should be able to select one of my uploaded images as my Profile Pic.

Why have the members go through all of the "extra clicks" to get to that option in the UCP?

Simplicity... ;)

Hi Nick

Is there a way to make the gallery comments count as the user's post count?
My site http://www.photo-op.co.za

Thanks

I'll be remiss if I didn't mention that when using the UCP for avatars, there is a limit on the size of the pic... Yes you can increase the size but phpBB doesn't compress the image... So a large pic would naturally mess-up your Forum.

The problem here is Internet users these days either don't know about re-sizing their pictures or don't want to know.

Savy net users (we're in the age of MySpace, Facebook, etc) are used to being able to upload any image as their Profile pic. Their approach is, "It should just work". I select the image I want to use and that's it.

Newer net users don't know anything about re-sizing a pic. They're just getting used to transferring their pictures from their digital camera and emailing them to friends and family...

This is another reason why having this option as part of the Gallery is a great idea. And why it was such a hit with FAP.

Very much looking forward to the next version, Nick. I think there've been several changes I'd like to see on my own board, but don't have enough skill to make them through the SVN updates. Do we have an updated estimated time of arrival yet?

I know, I'm like one of my kids - "Dad, are we there yet? Dad, are we there yet?"
