After forum and Gallery restore, missing images

This might happen with some ftp-programms, when the file list is too long, what can happen with >2000 files.

That's interesting Nick. One of the admins was downloading the "upload" folder got a error saying "list truncated to 2000 entries"

Now for some reason it seems all the files are downloading with the usual ftp programs I use so I'm wondering if it was a server error before. Still testing though.

What program do you use for backups. Do you use something automated or download manually by ftp?

I'm trying out Site-Vault.
It can restore a site and database complete. Because I needed a complete working forum to test is how I found out files were missing in the first place.

Nick, can you tell me where the thumbnail images are stored?

they are stored in gallery/images/cache/

For reference, I found the "cache" folder is emptied when clearing cache in ACP but files will be added to the cache folder when a image is viewed.

I'm still not sure where the smallest (thumbnail) images are stored. I believe they are not stored anywhere rather they are created fresh by the software each time a album page is loaded into the browser.
